When many people seek care in my office they have one goal: RELIEF. So that’s where we start! During this initial stage of intensive care, we have several obligations:

We offer an affordable flat fee for service. This allows me to do all that is necessary without additional charges. We also offer a ‘no waiting’ office policy. Simply put, this means you will not wait more than 10 minutes from your appointment time to see the doctor.

My specialty is Spinal Manipulation. We work to restore motion to increase spinal function. Poor motion causes pain, inflammation and frequently nerve damage. This can lead to many health conditions that can affect all bodily functions.

New Patients
Your first visit will include a Consultation, Examination, and Report of Findings. I will explain why you hurt and the treatment. process. I will explain how long it might take and how much it may cost.
I do encourage my patients to take X-Rays. The X-Rays needed are determined on a case-by-case basis.They might not be mandatory in all cases.The X-Rays produce valuable information allowing us to get a clearer “picture” of the problem. This is especially useful if you have a chronic problem, are older, or have a traumatic injury.
I utilize Santa Rosa Imaging. Their platform allows me direct access to your radiographs, This greatly speeds up the process. MRI is available, if needed. If we decide to move forward, we will give you your first treatment.

I have practiced my whole career, over 35 years, here in Sebastopol. My wife, Maggie, and I decided to move here in 1984 from San Jose and called Sebastopol “home”. It has been a rewarding experience. Our office is a 100 year old Victorian building that invites you in. A warm and friendly place, we are blessed.
I started as a chiropractic patient young in life. I injured myself when I was 16 years old. My father took me to his chiropractor, and the rest is history. I had an interest in nutrition and physical fitness and chiropractic was a natural life choice. It has been part of my life for over 35 years!
While not at work we live at ‘Hog Heaven’ Farm in Occidental. We have rescued many animals over the years, but we have a soft spot for ‘potbellied pigs’. They are so smart.
We also have dogs, cats, and many other animals that live out their natural life in a wonderful place with love and respect.
In recent years I have been passionate about Alaska, the animals, the landscape and the culture. I have worked with the Iditarod Dog race in the capacity of chiropractor at the end of the race in Nome. I worked with both the dogs and mushers.
I have been to Alaska many times in many different situations. From being dropped onto uninhabited islands with giant grizzle bears to Barrow Alaska, the top of the world in the Arctic. Please see my pictures here www.royhalpernphotography.com

A Passion for Photography
In addition to my work as a chiropractor, I am also a nature photographer.
My passion is Alaska. I have worked with the Iditarod dog race treating both man and dog in Nome, been ice fishing with Eskimos in Barrow, and photographing bears and other wildlife across the State.
